Farm & Garden 101

Our core program, Farm and Garden 101 teaches underserved growers and producers the fundamentals of regenerative farming and gardening as well as how to apply those skills to an urban landscape.

  • Taught in a cohort of 30 students, this 7-weekend (14-workshop) program teaches basic permaculture principles, plus how to apply those principles to establish a more holistic and self-sustaining farm or garden. Through hands-on activities and expert-led workshops held between March and October, students learn and grow with other like-minded individuals while developing a community farm together.

  • The Farm & Garden 101 course covers a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to: Soil Health & Remediation, Garden Planning & Design, Drip Irrigation & Water Catchment Systems, and Forest Management & INvasive Species Removal.

Future Growers Conservatory

In an effort to expose youth to practical, hands-on learning experiences and sow the seeds of farm skills and education, we partner with local middle and high schools. Through these partnerships, students gain the opportunity to volunteer, intern or participate in work-based learning right here at the microfarm.
