massive impact.
Microfarm
Wonderful People Microfarm is a small-scale regenerative farm that provides agricultural education and technical training for people who don’t historically receive it.
Working alongside seasoned farmers, gardeners and specialty crop producers, we educate and train youth, women, BIPOC and underserved groups about agricultural practices that simultaneously conserve our natural resources and restore native plants, wildlife and insects.
Through these efforts we create a resilient and vibrant food ecosystem for all.
Through these efforts we create a resilient and vibrant food ecosystem for all.
Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) who live in urban areas disproportionately lack access to nutritious food. As a result, these communities face food apartheid on an unparalleled level.
everybody, everywhere deserves healthy food.
Urban farming and gardening can help level the playing field.
Give a man a fish carrot, you’ll feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish farm, you’ll feed him — and his community — for a lifetime.
Farm + Garden 101
Our core programming here at WPM, our Farm and Garden 101 workshops teach the fundamentals of regenerative farming and gardening and how to apply those skills to an urban landscape.
Green Thumb Club
GTC is a central hub where BIPOC farmers and producers can share resources and get to know one another, the GTC connects Brown and Black growers within the farm and gardening community.
Future Growers Conservatory
In an effort to expose youth to practical, hands-on learning experiences, we partner with local schools, giving students the opportunity to volunteer, intern, or participate in work-based learning.
Wonderful People Microfarm
A 21-acre plot located in the outer Nashville basin, Wonderful People Microfarm is a place to learn, grow, and build community.
Located in Goodlettsville, the plot features flat, open pasture for farming and growing, as well as shady forested trails abundant with native vegetation, wildlife and insects for pollination. Our goal is to cultivate and steward this land to honor both its past and present, striving to sustainably grow food that will support our community and our local wildlife.
